Thieves make off with flatbed truck full of timber

A LARGE quantity of timber has been stolen from a small holding near Blandford.

The theft took place in Milton Abbas between Saturday February 16 and Saturday February 23.

Approximately 35 cubic metres of timber cut into five metre lengths was stolen. Police have said that to steal such a large amount of wood in one go the perpetrators would have had to have used a flatbed trailer with a hydraulic grab arm.

Police officer Richard Lill of Blandford police is appealing for help from the public to find those responsible: “I would urge anyone who may have witnessed this theft take place, has seen anything suspicious in the area at the time or may have information about those responsible to call Dorset Police.”

The police are also urging people to contact the police if they have been offered any wood in strange circumstances since the date of the theft.

'small-minded' - ? one and a half words.

With any luck, a small holding might mean a sentence to the likes of Richard Carr!

35 cubic METERS of timber cut into five metre lengths.
Were they gas meters or electricity meters - I haven't heard of wood meters, perhaps they are used to measure the amount of wood to put in a wood burning stove?
