- Three people are accused of murdering Boscombe man Geoffrey Reed.
- Stuart Raymond Wareham, 26, of Cecil Road, Boscombe, Benjamin Henry Walter, 22, and Lee Raymond Wareham, 33, both of no fixed address, are accused of murdering Mr Reed, 57, in Bournemouth between June 6 and June 14 last year
- Mr Reed,a convicted sex offender, went missing from his flat in Cecil Road. His remains were discovered in an area of woodland off Huntick Road, Lytchett Matravers, north of Poole.
- Timothy Mousley QC and Simon Jones prosecute.
- Stuart Wareham is represented by Ian Lawrie QC and Timothy Bradbury.

Mr Anderson denied making the story up to cover his own tracks.

The court hears that an attempt was made to withdraw £10 from Mr Reed's account by Mr Anderson.
Mr Lawrie QC said: "It seems a little odd that you are trying to withdraw money out of a dead nan's account."
mr Anderson replied: "It does yeah."

Asked why he didn't go to the police earlier, Mr Anderson said: "I was scared."

Mr Anderson denied having seen Mr Reed's body in the lounge and denied suggesting putting the body in a suitcase.
He also denied suggestions that he helped clean the flat to get rid of the evidence.

Asked under cross examination by Ian Lawrie QC, representing Stuart Wareham, why he hasn't told this to police in his first interview, Mr Anderson said: "I didn't want to believe it."

Mr Anderson said he later went back to the police to tell them Stuart Wareham had "confided" in him that he'd killed Mr Reed.
"I asked why and he said that he strangled him for eight minutes and then put a screwdriver through his head."

Daniel Anderson said he last saw Geoffrey Reed at 6am on Thursday June 7 last year where he was asleep on the sofa as usual.

Daniel Anderson added: "They've never cleaned the bathroom. Never. Not like that anyway."

Daniel Anderson told police he then went into the bathroom later and noticed how clean it was.

Anderson told police he wanted to be "certain" before telling the police what he'd heard.
"I didn't want to believe it as well mate to be honest with you. I just couldn't believe it."

He was asked to describe in detail the noises coming from the bathroom.
"Now I think about it, it's like you got someone's legs being forced into a bath.
Someone being dragged about."

Police asked Daniel Anderson to describe how the suitcase appeared.
He said: "Making my stomach turn thinking about it, because now I think about it, it did look packed."

Daniel Anderson told police he heard Benjamin Henry Walter say: 'We had to drop the body off and walk all the way to his nan's to get a shovel.'
Anderson added: "It's like if someone says that you know what the hell they're doing and I heard, I don't know who said this because a it's mumbled, but 'three foot under'."

Daniel Anderson told police he left the flat and returned later that day and noticed the sofa and a mattress was out of place and a white rug had disappeared.
He said he was told Geoffrey had gone to Weymouth for a few days.
He also told police he saw Stuart Wareham with a suitcase in the lounge.

Recalling the events of June 7 last year, Daniel Anderson said he heard "unusual" noises coming from the bathroom in the flat.
"The noises got a bit loud and a bit unusual for noises to be happening in the bathroom."
He said the noises made him feel "uncomfortable".
He said he heard the shower go on and he attempted to open the bedroom door but someone was holding the handle up.

Daniel Anderson told police he'd heard Stuart Wareham had attacked Geoffrey Reed in March last year because he was a "child molester".

He lived with Geoffrey Reed in his flat in Cecil Road in Boscombe at the time he died.

Said he met a man calling himself Lee Collins in early June 2012 in Boscombe Gardens.
Got to know Lee and gave him key to his flat.
Seen Lee with a dark grey back which had been left at his flat.
Lee stayed at his flat on June 5 and 6.
Took him into Boscombe on the morning of June 7.

Paige Gardiner said the flat was clean.
Everything looked like it had a home and had been polished.
The living room and sides had been cleaned and sofa hoovered.
Said to Daniel Anderson, who also lived there, that he'd been busy cleaning. He'd said that as Geoff had gone to Weymouth it was a good excuse to clean.
She said a couple of carpets had been removed from the flat and had been told that Stuart had got rid of it.

Went back to the flat on June 7, 2012 and noticed it was "spotless".
Stuart Wareham was there. He was smiling and listening to music.
Paige Gardiner tells court she asked where Geoff was and it took them a while to answer.
"And then Stuart turned round and said he's gone to Weymouth."

On June 6, 2012, Stuart Wareham told her that he had taken Geoffrey Reed's bank card and stole quite a bit of money off him.
"Also he was going to tell his sister to tell the police that Geoff touched her up so that Stuart could beat him up."

Paige Gardiner said Stuart Wareham "didn't like Geoffrey Reed at all" and said: "He says he's a paedophile."

She is giving evidence behind a screen.
Says she knows Stuart Wareham through her sister and the night shelter.
She met Geoffrey Reed in 2012 and visited his flat two or three times a week because her sister lived there.

Told police Stuart Wareham stole money from Mr Reed and was being violent towards Mr Reed.
He also told police he was aware of Stuart making threats towards Mr Reed.

He was due to receive a benefit payment of £233.29 on June 8. But it didn't arrive in account until June 19, 2012.

PC Fredriksen said Reed had told her he'd had some friends over the previous day, Stuart Wareham and two others.
They had drunk eight litres of cider.
Reed told her his friends had found some papers relating to his previous convictions and Stuart Wareham and Wayne Cooper had gone into his room asking him questions about these convictions.
PC Fredriksen said Reed initially said Wayne and Stuart had assaulted him but then changed his mind and said it was just Stuart who had assaulted him.

PC Fredriksen visited Reed's flat on March 22, 2012, with another officer.
Noticed Reed had some injuries - a small cut to his nose close to the bridge of his glasses, bruise to the right hand side of the face, and two developing black eyes.

The first witness to give evidence today is PC Jessica Fredriksen.
In 2012 she was responsible for managing sex offenders in the Bournemouth area.
Sex offenders have to attend a police station and give details of their address etc to a police.
