Initiative eases Purbeck schools transition

A NEW initiative to ease the transition from a three to a two-tier school system has been launched in Purbeck.

The Purbeck Education Partnership (PEP) is comprised of The Purbeck School, Wareham, and the 11 district primary schools involved in the £36million education shake-up.

It is hoped closer collaboration of member schools will strengthen opportunities for pupils.

Purbeck School head teacher Leanne Symonds said she believed partnerships such as PEP were “the way forward for education”.

Swanage’s St Mark’s Primary School head teacher, Helen Armstrong, agreed.
