Police commissioner talks at Boscombe Forum

DORSET’S new police and crime commissioner Martyn Underhill will be talking about his role at Boscombe Forum on Saturday.

The second meeting of the community group will also hear an update from Sue Bickler, Bournemouth coun-cil’s regeneration director, on efforts to improve the area’s housing and cut crime.

Other speakers include Marie-Claire Nicholson of the Prince’s Trust, on new opportunities for teenagers in Boscombe, local Inspector Chris Weeks with a crime update, and Bournemouth Council revenue and benefits officer Chris Dale on next month’s changes to the welfare system.

The meeting takes place at King’s Park Junior School in Ashley Road on Saturday, March 9, from 10am.

Excellent news. I'm really glad to see the new police commissioner is not ducking away from Boscombe. The last forum meeting had about 100 people there and I expect this one will have a lot more, and I am sure there will be people who have something to ask the new commissioner.
With benefit cuts looming in April, its good to see the Forum are having someone coming to explain more about what they are - for Boscombe this is going to be a significant factor.
