Teenage cyclist fighting for life after crash

A TEENAGE cyclist is fighting for his life after a collision with a car on a Dorset road.

The 17 year old boy was cycling on the A30 between Henstridge and East Stour at 6.45pm on Sunday when the crash happened.

Police said that the collision involved a silver Volkswagen Lupo being driven by a local woman.

A police spokesman said that the boy sustained life threatening injuries and was taken to Yeovil Hospital.

The road was closed while police officers carried out investigations.

Officers want to hear from witnesses and anyone who saw the cyclist or the car before the collision.

The collision happened on the A30 in north Dorset between Henstridge and East Stour but just quarter of a mile west of West Stour.

Call the police on 101 and ask for PC Freeman of the Poole traffic division.

Why is this article "hidden"? Yet another accident, needs more exposure!

Hope the boy recovers.

Totally agree with the above comment, the amount of road incidents lately has been worrying... particularly now when the result seems to be serious injury or death ... seeing the way some people drive I think we need to have, especially with summer coming, a road campaign for everyone just to take it easy on the roads, display consideration and observation ... the devastation these accidents cause is terrible on the families involved.
