Nice to see it was a 'respectable' OAP type for a change.Meyrick Park too.Better 'area' of town & where a lot of the 'morally superior' live.

Nice to know that the older generation can be just as irresponsible too.

I bet this dog IS 'Chipped' etc...doesn't help in tracing the owner though does it? Point being that ID Chipping your dog is OK for dealing with lost dogs & strays etc.Personally the only way which will help stop these incidents, is keeping all dogs on leads except special 'Dog Walking Zones'

BTW Im a dog owner.I'm all for ALL dogs on leads in public, which I do along with basic common sense, which lots of people seem to lack.

Another post where you have a dig at people that you for some reason feel inferior to. The last post I remember was the type of car parents drove their kids to school in that go you going. Now its the park they walk their dogs in that you use to somehow judge what type of person someone is.

The only chip I can see is the one on your shoulder!

We need "Bark Parks" as they have in the US and Selsey in Sussex.

These areas are fenced off areas within existing parks (the only cost is fencing, dog-waste bins and a seat for the owners) so dogs are allowed to run free. I used one and the owners police them with regards to dog mess etc.

The "Bark Park" could be monitored by CCTV to record any dog-on-dog attacks for legal claims etc.

Outside these areas dogs must be on leads.

I find it amazing that so many idiots on here can find humour in the fact someone was badly bitten by a dog. This lady was attacked for no reason and has been left badly shocked. I wonder if you would dare to be so unsympathetic if this had been a young child. Grow up and have some respect for others, this could have been your wife, mother or grandmother.

I agree with you entirely,i am a dog owner and find the behaviour of irresponsible owners unacceptable. The impact on an older person having been attacked by a uncontrolled dog is more than distressing and can cause them further problems. As for you mentioning the idiots, you are a regular contributor and you will know that if the idiots stopped leaving their comments there would be very little to read in the comment option in this paper

I take your point about the "idiots" but at times some comments on here do need to be addressed!
