A NEW course has been announced for this year’s Race for Life series.
The popular women-only event will be held at Kingston Lacy in East Dorset on Sunday, May 12, with the usual 5km and 10km race.
The route will take participants along the many paths and droves around the 8,500-acre National Trust estate.
Rachel Northover, Cancer Research UK’s Dorset event manager, said: “We are very excited about Race for Life taking place at the beautiful Kingston Lacy and we’d like to encourage as many local women as possible to join our team and play their part to beat cancer.
“We know many women want to take part but are worried about completing the 5km course.
“But Race for Life is non-competitive.”
She is calling on mums, grans, sisters and friends to sign up and help beat cancer and adopt their motto – “Cancer we’re coming to get you!”
Money raised from the event will help defeat cancer by funding life-saving research.
It is hoped that 8,750 women and girls will stride out in Dorset this year to help raise £475,000.
Other events have been organised for Bournemouth Seafront on Sunday, June 16, and Poole Park on Sunday, June 23.
Organisers say they are keen to hear from any volunteers who would like to help on the day.
