Car part thieves have put lives at risk, says volunteer
1:00pm Monday 4th March 2013 in News
A BRANSGORE charity volunteer feels disappointed after a part of an emergency response vehicle was stolen.
He saw that the grille which also comprised of two blue lights had been taken off the front of the 4x4. These lights are used in rapid response situations by the emergency services.
He said: “As volunteers, we are called out by South Central Ambulance Service to attend life-threatening incidents, such as breathing difficulties, heart attacks and strokes.”
Dennis, who owns a car garage, added: “It would cost £300 to replace what’s missing, which comes out of our own pockets as we are completely funded by the public.
“It means that the car has to be taken out of action, and so it puts lives at risk.”
Witnesses and anyone with information should contact Hampshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
