Dolphins spotted at Portland Bill by Martin Cade Dolphins spotted at Portland Bill by Martin Cade

A POD of Dolphins has been spotted off the Dorset coast this morning.

Around 15 bottle-nosed dolphins were seen just off the bill by Martin cade from the Portland Bird Observatory and posted on his Twitter.

He said: "It's always a real joy spotting dolphins whilst we're looking for birds.

"It was about 9.30 this morning when I first spotted them and saw them mulling around for about an hour.

"There were lots of dog walkers there taking photos and watching them - it really is a joy."

Mr Cade said that the best place to see pods of dolphins is at the tip of the bill, where they appear roughly 15 times a year.

It's a privilege to see such sights off our beautiful coast, but I hope we don't see happening as so often does, people out in little boats trying to touch, follow & hassle them when they hear dolphins have been spotted ... just admire them from a distance & leave them free

Totally agree, they are beautiful intelligent creatures, still feel ashamed of the fact that I once swam with them when they were in captivity, shall never forget the look in their eyes, I would set them all free to swim in the ocean if I could.

Beautiful animals, I wonder what they'll think of the proposed Danish Wind Farm in Poole Bay?
