A SERIAL burglar who forced his way into a home in the Charminster area of Bournemouth while the occupants were out has been jailed for 876 days.

Patrick Kiely helped himself to laptops, camcorders and games consoles worth more than £2,000, using a stolen bank card to withdraw funds for his own benefit.

After the 22-year-old faced fraud and burglary charges at Bournemouth Crown Court, DC Christopher Raspini said: “This was an extremely unpleasant crime; he made an untidy search of the entire house showing complete disregard for his victims’ property.

“Not only did he steal expensive electrical items, he also took a bank card and documents, using the card to withdraw money from cashpoints.”

DC Raspini added: “Kiely is a prolific burglar and the sentence reflects how seriously the courts view such offences.”
