POOLE People has announced it will oppose the Conservative administration’s proposed 1.95 per cent council tax increase.
With the Liberal Democrats also favouring a zero increase, the Conservative administration could be outvoted at a full meeting of Borough of Poole tonight.
Cllr Mark Howell, Poole People leader, said there were instances where the council was wasting money on unnecessary projects and believed savings could be made without affecting front-line services.
He said: “We accept that the council faces real financial challenges, but the zero per cent council tax position is that right one for Poole’s residents.”
