THE lifeboat was scrambled when a fishing vessel suffered engine failure off Portland.
The boat, Jemma T, requested assistance from the coastguard when the incident occurred 17 miles from Portland Bill.
The Weymouth RNLI Lifeboat took the 23ft vessel with two people on board back into Weymouth.
It happened just after 9.20am yesterday.
