MAJOR resurfacing works are affecting a key route in Bournemouth from today.

The works will last a week and affects a stretch of Christchurch Road between St Swithun’s Road roundabout and Manor Road.

A road closure is in place and traffic will be diverted along Manor Road.

The work is part of Three Towns Travel, a major transport improvement programme which aims to improve travel between Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch.

Ian Kalra, transportation services manager, said: “I’d like to assure residents, motorists and the travelling public that we have planned these works so that they cause as little disruption as possible.

“Work will be undertaken over extended working shifts to complete the works in a shorter period which will minimise the impact on the high traffic levels that use this route.”

What a load of cobblers.
What difference is a quarter of a mile stretch of road going to make?

"The work is PART OF Three Towns Travel"

Obviously if this was the only thing they intend to do as part of the travel then no it wouldn't make a difference, but it isn't.

You can bet your life this will be the major works in Bournemouth. Then it will be Poole's turn to do a quarter of a mile somewhere in the conurbation, then Christchurch. The numpties at the Councils don't have enough savvy to carry out works to each boundary or to liase with one another to effectively make a difference.
As I said before its all cobblers.
