Do you recognise Holdenhurst Road sex attacker? Do you recognise Holdenhurst Road sex attacker?

THIS is the face of the man wanted by police over a frightening late-night sexual assault in Bournemouth.

The victim, a 20-year-old Bournemouth University student who lives in Winton, was unexpectedly grabbed from behind by an unknown man and attacked in the subway between Holdenhurst Road and the travel interchange at around 1.30am on Friday.

CCTv was released at the weekend, but has been criticsed for being too indistinct.

Now police have released an e-fit of the suspect and a description

Students are being warned not to get too drunk and not to walk home alone after the incident.

While I agree the incident is not a laughing matter the photos produce in an effort to catch this scumbag are very much a laughing matter.

In other words, Old Bill haven't a clue what the guy looked like.

Does anyone ever check the likeness/accuracy of these images when the 'real' person is finally caught?

I think you should all be incredibly ashamed of yourselves. A 20 year old woman got raped and you're all making fun of the e-fit. They may not be completely accurate but if the CCTV imaging wasn't very clear then this is the only other imaging the police can release. It certainly isn't anything to laugh about and i'm sure that if any member of the woman's family read your comments they'd all be very upset. Try to have a little respect for what the woman has gone through and keep your comments to yourself if you have nothing serious to say.

Hear, hear, Hampshire Holly.

Disgusting comments. What sort of people make comments like that? Just disgusting. This poor woman is going to be scarred for the rst of her life by what's happened; this is not the place for lighthearted banter.

Truly offensive to the victim and readers alike.

Why is it that street cameras are not as clear as speed camera pictures? Surely it is equally as important to save a life in a subway as it is on a wide open stretch of carriageway? Why was his face pixellated in the first place?

yep some truly pathetic comments here. You wouldn't find this funny if this was your daughter now would you?

It says that it was a sexual assault. Either way people shouldn't be making fun of the e-fit. People shouldn't have to be wary of walking alone in the dark, it's all the sick people out there that have ruined things for us all. What kind of world do we live in that we have to be scared of the dark? What kind of world do we live in that people attack other people for no other reason than that they're alone? It's awful, and so are the comments that people have been writing.

Lets hope this e-fit is a striking likeness, people like him wont stop until there caught, next time he strikes the person may not be so lucky,so fingers crossed they catch him soon, and they will get him.

I know these comments are read by councillors and what I think people are trying to say by joking about these efit and CCTV images is in truth they are so poor they are as useless as nothing at all, I believe they are saying for goodness sakes we all know CCTV has moved on, we all know it's not as expensive as it used to be, were all fairly certain the cable infrastructure could support upgraded HD cameras and digital reciever/recorders without needing upgrading so drasticly reducing expense, so please, please councilors adress this issue with haste to at least help reduce the chances of another girl being attacked for significantly less money than putting more police on the beat. I don't think anyone who has joked about these images recently, and there's been a few, means any disrespect to anyone.

Every body on here is truly disgusted at what this scumbag has done but perhaps the comments that you say are making fun of a horrible crime might shock the powers that be into spending a little of the money that is fleeced from council tax payers to up grade their cctv cameras which will send a message to these scum that they will be identified and caught very quickly if they continue to attack people whether it be a man or woman.

This picture doesn't just contain one man. Who are the people following shortly behind? Did they see the attack happen? Did they do anything about it? It is a shame that the CCTV is not as clear as other cameras i have seen. Hope they find the scumbag.

I don't think anyone is being disprespecting the poor vistim of this attack.
But the point is this. As a society we have never been as snooped upon, surveilled, monitored and watched. It has spawned a whole new industry around surveillance and enforcement.
Now, in return for the intrusions and incursions into our lives, surely we can expect the images produced on CCTV to be of decipherable quality.

Especially Bournemouth.More CCTVs per head than ANYWHERE...Try spending say £10 on a camera rather than penny pinch to save £2 for a cheaper one.Cameras DON'T HELP if theyre about as clear as a pic taken with a camera, smeared with Vaseline....
