- Part of the Sunseeker factory at Poole Quay caught fire this morning
- Eye witness reported flames and smoke coming from inside the building
- Ten firefighters were on the scene to tackle the blaze
- The blaze took place at the hanger where Eddie Jordan's Sunseeker 155 is being constructed
- Dorset Fire and Rescue confirmed an extractor fan was completely damaged but there was no smoke or fire damage to any boat or other piece of equipment
Sunseeker International managing director Stewart McIntyre said in a statement: “The incident was directly outside the shipyard building our new 155 Yacht and our client has been informed that there is no damage to his boat or disruption to the delivery schedule.
“At present, the detailed cause of the fire remains unknown but it involved an external extractor fan unit and temporary, fire resistant weather protection sheeting.
“There is no damage to any of our boats under construction or any serious disruption to our production facilities, which remain fully operational.”
He added: “On behalf of everyone at Sunseeker, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Dorset Fire and Rescue Service and our staff who contributed to containing any potential damage arising from this incident.”
Dorset Fire and Rescue has confirmed that the extractor fan was completely damaged, but there was no smoke or fire damage to any boat or other piece of equipment.
“We sent two crews and they were only there for about an hour,” said a spokeswoman.
We're expecting a statement from Sunseeker and another statement through from Dorset Fire and Rescue very shortly. We'll get these up as soon as we have them.
Our reporter Jim is still on Poole Quay. He says people appear to still be working on the site.
We're hearing that there's no direct damage to the yacht you can see under the tenting in the pictures by the way.
Apologies to those of you coming to the blog for the first time - both videos from earlier seem to have been removed. We're not sure why.
Our reporter Jim Durkin says workers on the site are still inspecting the damage.
We are trying to firm up the rumours that it was Eddie Jordan's 155 that was under the tenting, by the way. It may be nothing but wild speculaton, but as soon as we get any information, we'll let you know.
In case that means nothing to you, here's a story about it from last year from the Daily Mail. It's 155 feet long, will reportedly cost £18 million and has an on-board garage.
There's also a picture here of the hull being moved between sheds in October last year.
There has been an ambulance on site, although Sunseeker says there have been no injuries.
Our reporter says the remaining firefighters have just left the scene.
Statement from Dorset Fire and Rescue says they were called at 11.52am. “Ten firefighters from Hamworthy and Poole attended a commercial building on New Quay Road following reports of smoke issuing from the building. The fire involved an extractor unit on the second floor. It was extinguished by three firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and using two hose reel jets and a main line.”
The stop message was received at 12.42pm.
The service said the cause was under investigation.
Another picture from Jon. This time of fire engines and an ambulance at the scene.

Sunseeker says it can confirm no one has been injured.
It expects to issue a fuller statement within the hour.
And another, wider shot of the damage.

Dorset Fire and Rescue hoping to issue a statement in the next 10 minutes.
@Bournemouthecho apparently it was a small amount of temporary tenting and everyone and all the factories are okay.— @elizabethlizzey 29 January 2013
Our photographer Jon, looking at the scene, says the shed in question has a transparent screen in front of it that looks as though it's melted.

@Bournemouthecho Fire is out but left some damage. http://t.co/pMZXfXB1— @customhousequay 29 January 2013
Tourist Katie Williams said: “We saw smoke and firemen on the platform. They weren’t putting it out; I think it had already gone out, they were just looking at it.”
Our reporter says the fire service's high rise platform has just been removed. No smoke now visible from the Poole side of the Quay.
@Bournemouthecho that's my scaffolding !!! Was only on that 2 hours ago!!!— @ben_hatch09 29 January 2013
It looks like the fire itself might be out now. Reporter Jim Durkin is at the Quay and will be sending us more info any second.
Thankfully it seems to be less dramatic than the last time there was a Sunseeker fire, which you can see here
@Bournemouthecho ..... Have a look..... Everyone evacuated..... http://t.co/nx11aHkE— @nats_Ben 29 January 2013
Here's some timelapse footage of the fire via @Rikkiebags on Twitter
Dorset Fire and Rescue say they were called to reports of smoke issuing from a commercial building in New Quay Road. Ten firefighters were on the scene.
Another witness said he could see the site of the blaze in one of three large sheds on the Sunseeker factory, off Ferry Road.
Witness Tim Such said he was opening his shop Dorset Gifts on the Quay when he saw the blaze.
“All I can see is big black smoke. There were flames to be seen too.”
It's getting worse. Here come the fire men!... #Sunseeker http://t.co/dRYudZq8— @jeswilkens 29 January 2013

We're getting reports of a fire at Sunseeker. At the moment we're unsure if it's a single yacht or the factory itself. We're getting lots of calls, so more details as we know more.
