HAVE YOUR SAY: Council charge on building projects would pay for flood defences
5:00pm Monday 28th January 2013 in News
CHRISTCHURCH and East Dorset Partnership are consulting on plans for a new charge on new building projects.
As part of their local plan the authorities are asking for opinions on the Community Infrastructure Levy, a locally-set charge applied to new building projects to help fund infrastructure in Christchurch and East Dorset.
This includes new or safer road schemes, flood defences, schools, hospitals and other health and social care facilities, park improvements, green spaces and leisure centres.
Details can be seen at council offices and libraries as well as at dorsetforyou.com/407160.
Comments can be made by emailing planningpolicy@ christchurchandeastdorset.gov.uk or by post to the council offices.

.
So is this another tax that the Council will absorb into general funding or specifically ring fenced to mitigate their proposed grandiose developments?

Dont build on flood plains, make sure the drains are not blocked (not as if we pay enough for that is it) and actually think about flooding before making the money and running.
