Mystery of wedding and engagement rings hidden in Cath Kidston bag Mystery of wedding and engagement rings hidden in Cath Kidston bag

POLICE want to trace the owner of these two rings found in a bag bought in Christchurch.

An 11-year-old girl found the rings inside a Cath Kidston bag bought in Lavender and Bay gift shop in Christchurch on Sunday January 19.

PC Dave Williams said: “The young girl was very concerned that the owner of the rings would be upset at their loss and immediately returned to the shop having discovered them.

“The proprietor of the store has no idea how they came to be in the bag and is keen to see them reunited with the person who has lost them.”

One of the rings is a white gold solitaire style ring with a white stone and the other is a pale yellow wedding band.

PC Williams added: “I would like to commend both the young girl and the shop proprietor for following the right course of action by contacting us.

“Anyone who has any information that can help us identify the rightful owner of this jewellery should call 101 and ask to speak to me.”

Contact 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Well done to the girl who handed the rings in. Shame she hasnt been named so she can receive some kind of reward and recognition. Good behaviour like that needs to be encouraged.

Ditto mungobean. Nice to know there are still some well bought up and honest people out there. I hope this young lady receives some reward for her honesty when the owner comes forward.

Well done to the young lady who found the rings. I hope the rightful owner is found and for a happy reunion. A small reward for her honesty would be absolutely lovely. I'm sure the rings' owner will reward her.
I found a bag in the park last week and managed to reunite it with the owner who was extremely grateful and bought me flowers and chocolate!
I lost my wallet last year and a kind gentleman found it, checked my ID and handed it back to me, with my money still inside.
There are honest folk out here.
I couldn't take something that didn't belong to me, it's the way I was bought up. Treat others how you'd like to be treated. The world would be a better place if we were all honest.

11 years old with a honest sense of moral decency , well done to her. She obviously has good parents and good schooling. Best of luck in finding the owner

Have they thought of asking this Cath lady, if it's her bag then maybe they're her rings?
