Bournemouth Airport "suspended operations" to clear snow and ice from runway

Bournemouth Airport "suspended operations" to clear snow and ice from runway Bournemouth Airport "suspended operations" to clear snow and ice from runway

THE runway at Bournemouth Airport was briefly closed today to clear it of some ice and snow.

The airport at Hurn “suspended operations” for around 10minutes after a plane landed and appeared to blow some snow and ice onto the tarmac.

The airfield team were called to inspect the runway before the suspension was lifted.

An EasyJet flight due to land at Bournemouth from Geneva at 11.15am was delayed and flying in a holding pattern over Bournemouth for around 30minutes.

It landed at Bournemouth just before 12noon.

MAG should terminate full stop and give the job to a company who can bring it back to life.
I feel sorry for the folk in Stansted or was it Luton, as MAG have just taken then over, good chance all the tour operators will move out soon, thus a few more unemployed. What MAG need is a management which has a vision......and that's forward,

So, where's the story?
Are the gritters and their drivers supposed to keep on working with 150 tonnes of aircraft landing at speeds of up to 120 mph on the runways they're trying to clear.
Of course they suspended operations. Get real.

They've just bought Stansted so you can bet there will soon be a drop off charge there too. Greedy scum.

Yes I've just read that! They introduced this £2 drop off charge very recently, claiming it would reduce emissions by encouraging people to arrive at the airport by public transport! And they really expect us to buy that!
So, in part thanks to those passengers who have blindly paid up at Bournemouth over the last couple of years we are now going to see this scam being rolled out at every airport who wants to exploit it's customers to the maximum. I hope you're proud of yourselves.
Charging people to set down passengers is a disgusting rip off and the kind of sharp practice that should be banned by the Government with immediate effect.

Maybe that's why the plane didn't want to land....are they charging aircraft a drop off fee?

so the runway was closed for 10 minutes and the Easyjet in the hold for 30 minutes... Doesn't quite add up.

The drop off charge may not be of any consequence to those with no principles who don't mind being ripped off, but thank God there are still a few of us who DO CARE about being treated as cash cows and have stood up for those principles, choosing to boycot Bournemouth Airport until it's removed.
Thanks to those who carry on contributing to this con we can all expect a large number of other airports to follow suit. Stansted have. How will the millions of people using Heathrow or Gatwick react if they resort to a disgusting scam like this too? Only a matter of time now thanks to the sheep who've blindly paid up and don't care.
What next? £2-50 to walk into railway stations? £2-50 to wait at a bus stop or taxi rank? How about £2-50 just to walk into your local pub perhaps?
Enough is enough. This kind of scam needs to be dealt with with Government legislation. Too bad those with no morals can't see that.

Once again the people who would rather pay a fortune in petrol/fares/time to avoid Bournemouth for a mere £2 jump in at any opportunity.

Unfortunately convenience sometimes comes at a cost - but a VERY small cost in this case.

Also, it is not a "scam" or a "con". It is a notified charge.

It's not a notified change. It's a rip off. Shame on you for condoning this sharp practice.
Thanks to people like you, this money making scam will be seen all over the place in years to come because companies can make money from the idiots who blindly accept and pay it. The Government need to act now to stop this.
