HAVE YOUR SAY: Do you take a lunch break?
11:13am Thursday 24th January 2013 in News
More than 1 in 4 workers in Bournemouth fail to take a single lunch break during the working week, according to new figures.
A survey by the British Heart Foundation also showed one in six workers do absolutely no physical activity during working hours, and nearly a quarter only manage up to 20 minutes or less over the entire working day.
The survey is part of a campaign by the BHF to get workplaces to sign up to their Health at Work programme aimed at counteracting the effects of today's sedentary lifestyle in a bid to combat heart disease.
Do you think taking a lunch break is important?

.
I decided to move to London and reap the financial rewards if I was going to be worked hard anyway. It was a completely different story. 3 pints for lunch everyday and the afternoon on the internet.
.
I bet the people in Bmth who don't take lunch work for a back office function for a large organisation. Probably American or Japanese.

Any bets that the 1 in 4 that don't take a lunch break in Bournemouth are in the public-sector?

Its not just lazy senior managers who work in the public sector, there are also amongst others some very dedicated people like carers, therapists, medical staff, social workers and so on. Its just a shame that you and others always tar anyone who work in these areas with the same brush.

Silly really because in the long term, it creates a high turnover of staff, low morale & lower overall productivity.

Better off abstaining than self contamination.
