ICE warnings and light snow warnings are still in place for Bridport and west Dorset today.

There was rain overnight and into this morning but the Met Office is still warning of the danger throughout today.

Motorists are urged to still take care on the roads despite the thaw.

Ice is again expected on Wednesday morning before temperatures rise and the situation improves towards the end of the week.

All major routes - such as the A35 - are said to be okay although ice remains on the roads in places and is worse on more rural roads.

Police closed one lane of the duel carriageway on the A35 near Bridport last night amid concerns about ice but it was open as normal again this morning.

Burton Bradstock school is open as usual again today, Tuesday January 22, after its heating was repaired yesterday.
