Snow tow: Bournemouth University student finds novel way of getting to the library Snow tow: Bournemouth University student finds novel way of getting to the library

SNOW made for tricky conditions on the roads last week but one Bournemouth student found a different way of getting around.

The Bournemouth University student took to his skis and was towed along by a 4x4 to the library as he clutched an extension lead.

The video of his journey, which was posted to YouTube on Friday, shows the suit-clad student trying out numerous stunts and waving to passers-by along the way.

Well, that's a probable fine for the driver, and the Echo have handily published all the evidence!

Nice to see a newspaper condoning something which is completely illegal on a public road. I hope nobody copies it, and either gets hurt or prosecuted.

Why didn't he just get in the car?

Yes F-U-N - you know that thing that people do to feel good/make others feel good and raise a smile. Something sadly lacking in a lot of people!

My post has gone completely over peoples heads. I can't see anywhere in it where I've said it isn't fun, it was a warning that the paper could potentially get itself in trouble for promoting such a thing, but as usual people assume other things.

I saw someone doing exactly the same thing in Holt on Friday.

Telling the world that this activity is 'illegal', 'bad for your health', etc, etc, hardly adds to the font of human knowledge. We kind of probably know this.
Sure, if everyone tried it, that might not be such a good idea. But I do hope that the local plod, or any other organisation in the enforcement and/or regulation business, isn't wasting valuable reosurces tracking down the driver. Leave be, it all adds a bit of gaiety to the nation.

Interesting to compare this guys spirit with that of the wimps at my workplace who are taking time off because it is 'too dangerous' to travel.
Prefer his attitude!

Glad to see that a student is using his time well and not doing boring things like studying for a degree.

What on earth do you think he was going to the library for?

Seems like a novel way of getting around in the snow lol! Most of us would probably secretly love to try this only this guy had the guts to actually do it. Bravo to him I say!

Oh dear, I guess your one of those drivers, who think the Police should only be dealing with crimes like murders, rapes and burglaries.
Either that or you've been caught by a speed camera by your own stupidity.

that's the problem, people have been killed and the survivor/tormenter says "we were only having a bit of fun"

Yup, I've been caught speeding, 35 mph in a 30 mph zone. I took my punishment. And I've been burgled. But frankly the police were useless.
So yes, I'm happy to report that I do think the police be dealing with murders, rapes and burglaries - if only it were that good.
The world is full of dull people telling the rest of us what is illegal. Bit like the Catholic church, which excels in telling us what is sinful, what we shouldn't be doing. How about more of what we 'should' be doing?
