Woman treated for smoke inhalation after Poole house fire

A WOMAN was treated for smoke inhalation after a blaze at a property in Alderney, Poole today.

Fire crews from Redhill Park and Westbourne arrived at the house in Belben Road after receiving a call at 2.08pm.

They discovered smoke coming out of the house, and used four sets of breathing apparatus and three hose reel jets to tackle the flames.

Volunteers from the Red Cross were also on the scene to provide temporary housing and support for the victims.

A 50-year-old woman was treated at the scene.

The cause of the fire has not yet been established, but the blaze began in front bedroom, which suffered severe damage.

The rest of the house was also badly smoke damaged.

Dorset Fire and Rescue teams will be visiting the area tomorrow to provide reassurance to residents.

It always seems to be council houses that catch fire, why is that?

Unless you know the house personally.......it may of been an ex-council property. Lets hope all involved are ok and the last thing anyone should be bothered about is if it is social housing!

Read the post properly before making insulting comments I was just pointing out that it seems to be the case more often that not,it could be a case of council properties not being maintained as they should be,put brain in gear next time.

I saw some more people clearly suffering from the effects of smoke inhalation outside the Hemporium in Boscombe yesterday.
