RESIDENTS of a mobile home park in Ferndown were left without power after heavy snow caused branches to fall around the site.
Peter Gascoyne, 78, a resident at Lone Pine Park, which contains around 100 mobile homes, saw a flash when he was walking through the park at around 8.30am this morning.
He said he thought a branch must have fallen on power lines due to the weight of snow on it.
“I was walking to the top of the hill here to let the site supervisor know about a fallen branch near our home, there are quite a few branches coming down around the park,” he said.
“Then there was a big flash like a short circuit.
“There’s no wind up here, but there are a lot of trees all round the site and they are quite old, so I suppose it must be the weight of snow which is bringing the branches down.
“There are about 100 homes here and we have no electricity at all, it is pretty cold up here.”
Mr Gascoyne said the site manager was investigating the power loss.
The power came back on just after 2pm.
