A POOLE secondary school in special measures is making satisfactory progress with improvements, according to government inspectors.
Ashdown Technology College received a damning Ofsted report in February last year and senior staff were told to improve the effectiveness of leaders and managers, raise attainment and improve behaviour.
During a two-day monitoring visit in November, a team of inspectors observed 35 lessons, looked at work and spoke to pupils at the school at which Ian Cox is now the interim head.
They also met with senior staff, governors and a representative of the local authority.
They concluded that achievement, quality of teaching, leadership and management and behaviour have all improved and said progress is satisfactory.
