SOMETHING wicked this way comes, when the Circus of Horrors rolls into Poole on Saturday night.

The critically-acclaimed show, seen in the finals of Britain’s Got Talent, is set in 1927 Berlin, the birth of the cabaret, and is entitled The Curse of the Devil Doll.

The Circus of Horrors is now in its 17th year and tours all over the world, bringing circus skills into the 21st century.

The new show, for over-16s only, features the hair hanging diva, acrobats, roller skaters, aerialists, sword swallowers, hula hoop girls, Captain Dan and the Wolf Boy. The creepy show will also feature daredevil performances from local performers Steph Bates from Corfe Mullen and Doug Child, above, from Southbourne who are returning to home turf to take part in the performance.

Steph, who attended Lockyer’s Middle School and Corfe Hill’s School, performs as Stephanie Mercury in the show. She said: “I’ve learnt how to do some different things, like the iron jaw, which is where you hang by your teeth.

“It can take lots and lots of years to learn how to do it, as it can be quite dangerous. You could lose all of your teeth, and in the theatres we don’t wear any safety ropes.”

Former Portchester Community School pupil Doug is the master of ceremonies, as well as being responsible for the show’s pyrotechnics.

The Circus of Horrors is at the Lighthouse Poole tomorrow evening.
