DETECTIVES investigating a frightening attempted armed robbery at a Bournemouth bookmakers have released this e-fit image of the suspect.

They hope someone will recognise the woman and help them track her down following the incident on Sunday, December 23.

The woman is described as 5ft 9ins tall, slim, with blonde, wavy hair and wearing two inch heels, a light brown scarf and a black leather jacket.

She threatened a female member of staff with what is believed to be a firearm as she was locking up at Coral in Castle Lane West at 6.15pm.

The incident was described at the time as “a very scary ordeal for the victim that has left her very shaken.”

And officers also said the woman may have left the scene with a man who was seen nearby talking on a mobile phone.

The man, described as black, in his 30s and wearing a fluorescent sleeveless top and grey or beige beanie hat, may have followed the woman down Bradpole Road immediately after the offence.

The would-be robber had demanded cash from her victim but fled from the scene empty-handed.
Detective Sergeant Dave Columb of Bournemouth and Poole CID said: “This incident happened opposite Castlepoint shopping centre at a busy main road.

“Therefore, it is likely there may have been members of the public in the area during the time of the incident and that somebody may have information that can help us in our investigation.

“The woman we are looking to trace is very distinctive in appearance. I urge anybody who may recognise the offender from the e-fit image or anyone with any details to contact Dorset Police on 101 in the strictest confidence.”
