THE Do It for Dorset Campaign is a joint initiative between Daily Echo and the Dorset Community Foundation – a registered charity dedicated to promoting charitable giving and grant making for charities and community groups across the county.

As part of the Do It for Dorset Campaign every charity and community group signed up to Localgiving.com campaign will have a chance to double their donations – every £10 donated through Localgiving.com will become £22.50!

Wareham Scouts and Guides provide all sorts of worthwhile indoor and outdoor activities for children and young people including Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, camping, walking and water skills.

Their premises are a new purpose built hall in the centre of Wareham, which offers different activities for groups each evening.

Why the community needs this charity

They benefit the community in a variety of ways and the children and young people are very much involved in all sorts of community activities through carnival, Father Christmas parade, planting bulbs, Christmas post service, supporting the town twinning and churches Christmas meal etc.

The charity also gets involved with delivering Christmas post for people who cannot easily post their own cards.

The Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers will deliver local cards in Wareham Carey Northmoor Northport Stoborough and Ridge in the week before Christmas. Each stamp costs 25p and available at Horsey's Farwells Carey Tourist Information and at their HQ at Bestwall .

Results and outcomes We have a wonderful purpose built hall which we are delighted with and want to enable it to be used by as many children and other community groups as possible.
