A TOTAL of 130 fundraisers plunged into the sea in fancy dress at Boscombe for the fifth White Christmas Dip.

The annual fundraiser for the Macmillan Caring Locally charity attracted people in mankinis, festive outfits and one man came dressed as a horse.

Organiser Tom Baker and family set the event up to raise funds for the Christchurch charity after being inspired by his uncle John White’s battle with skin cancer.

John was among those who braved the cold and Tom was delighted to see the numbers almost double that of last year.

Tom, of Charminster, said: “With the bad weather I did not think we would have as many people as we did so it was really good and thanks to everyone for coming and showing their support.”

Once sponsorship and donations are handed in it is hoped the event will have raised more than £5,000 for the charity Donations can be made at whitechristmasdip.co.uk
