Traders warned over counterfeit money
12:00pm Tuesday 25th December 2012 in News
FERNDOWN traders have been warned to watch out for counterfeit cash by the town’s Chamber of Commerce.
The Barrington Centre reported a young man in the town trying to pay for goods with fake £20 notes to the chamber on Friday.
The man may try to buy an item of low value with the forged note.
Shaun Flynn, chairman of the chamber, said: “The Barrington Centre alerted us to this, and we want to make sure traders are aware of it.
“Our priority at the Chamber of Commerce is to look after our members. We don’t know who this man is, or if he is staying put or just going through the town, so it’s best to be careful.”
