KIERAN Burke, 12, is in Year 7. He said: “The lessons have a lot of information in and the teachers are kind and try to make learning interesting. I like PE and games and I play football and hockey for the school.”
YEAR 6 pupil Kayla Dargan, 10, said: “I think there are really big opportunities in this school. I really like science and we are learning about what makes you ill at the moment. I have got a lot of good friends here.”
SENIOR leadership team member and Student Voice co-ordinator Jan Farrington said: “The children make this school buzz. They have a real love of learning and are inquisitive and full of ideas. I work with the school council and peer mediators.”
YEAR 6 teacher Kay Spratt is also head of English and Art. She said: “It is important that we have always been committed to a balanced curriculum, which is proving to be of real benefit. They are well-rounded and have a wide range of interests.”
ANGIE Yeatman is chair of the Parents Association which organises events including school discos, firework parties and football matches. She said: “My children have enjoyed their time at this school. The children here like school – it is one big family and teamwork is promoted.”
