TWO girls were mugged by a trio of teenagers in an unprovoked attack as they walked home on Saturday night. 

Police are appealing for information after the attack, on Saturday at 1.15am at the junction of Poole Hill and Norwich Avenue in the triangle area.

The victims, two 17-year-old girls from Bournemouth, were walking along Poole Hill toward Westbourne. when they were approached by two teenage girls and one teenage boy at the junction with Norwich Avenue.

One of the offending girls tried to grab a handbag from one of the victims pulling her to the ground.

The handbag, containing keys, was stolen and the victim was assaulted. The second female offender punched the second victim once to the face, before all three offenders made off along Norwich Road.

The two victims were uninjured.

Detective Constable Ross Graham, of Bournemouth CID, said: “This seems to have been an unprovoked attack on two young victims.

“I urge anyone who witnessed the incident and anyone with information about those responsible to contact police as soon as possible.

“Anyone who witnessed this offence should call Dorset Police urgently.”

All three offenders are described as being approximately 17 years of age.

The boy is about five feet seven inches tall, of skinny build and with short hair. He was wearing a grey hooded top and tracksuit bottoms.

Both of the female offenders are described as white.
