Jack turns 12 years of age on 12/12/12 WHEN the clock struck midnight today, young Jack Critchley began to celebrate a very special birthday.

The Bishop of Winchester pupil, who lives with his family in Hastings Road, Bournemouth, turned 12 on the 12th day of the 12th month, 2012.

The next time the numbers will match up again will be in 89 years’ time, on 01/01/2101. Jack will spend his unusual birthday in school.

Mum Gill said: “It is quite rare – the dates won’t line up like this again for some years now.

“It’s a bit of a special date for a birthday, particularly as he turns 12 that day too. We don’t know of anyone else in his school yet who will turn 12 on the same day. I’m sure there are other children who will celebrate their birthday that day, but we haven’t heard of anyone else.”

Year Seven pupil Jack will celebrate his birthday with family this weekend. Jack isn’t the only one to celebrate a birthday today – teacher Michelle Betteridge-Hanson from Bournemouth Collegiate School turns 33 today, and pupil Isabelle Orm will celebrate her 8th birthday.

Mrs Betteridge-Hanson, who will spend the day on a course, also shares a birthday with her four-year-old niece Jazmin Betteridge, who lives in Poole.

“I’ll be home tonight to celebrate my birthday with my husband and two sons, so that’s what I’m looking forward to most,” she said.

Sarah Flynn, who lives in Westbourne, will also be celebrating as she turns 34. Sarah said: “I think a friend is going to cook me a meal tonight. I didn’t really realise until maybe a couple of months ago that the dates were going to match until I saw it on the calendar.”
