ICY conditions have caused crashes and delays on Dorset’s roads during this morning’s rush hour.
There were a number of collisions and treacherous conditions caused by ice on the road.
The coast road was partially blocked due to an accident at Chickerell Hill with slow traffic between the West Street junction and Nottington Lane junction.
There was another collision between Charminster and Charlton on the Old Sherborne Road with delays in both directions.
A car rolled onto its side at Portesham, partially blocking the road through the village towards Portesham Hill.
The A37 has been closed after a scooter rider came off his bike at Clay Pigeon.
He sustained minor injuries and an ambulance was called to the scene.
A car slid off the road at the junction under the bridge at Crossways, Dorchester, the woman driver was not injured.
Another vehicle flipped upside down on the coast road near Abbotsbury.
The A30 was closed for half an hour after a car rolled off the road, trapping one woman inside the vehicle.
Fire crews freed the woman from the car and she was taken to Yeovil General Hospital with chest and neck injuries.
