11:16am Thursday 6th December 2012 in News
A POOLE man accused of a catalogue of serious offences made his first appearance at Winchester Crown Court this morning.
Charges against Dean Goodwin, 32, of Blackburn Road include attempted murder and five offences of rape.
He appeared before Bournemouth magistrates last week but the charges are beyond the jurisdiction of magistrates who sent the case to the Crown Court.
Goodwin was detained by armed police in Poole on Tuesday November 27 following a four-day search.
He appeared before Judge Guy Boney QC at Winchester today for a preliminary hearing.
Goodwin is accused of a total of 11 offences including four rapes and one offence of false imprisonment in Poole on November 23, a burglary at a domestic property in West Row, Wimborne between November 23 and 26 and a burglary at Wallisdown Liberal Club in Kinson Road, Bournemouth on November 25.
He is also alleged to have travelled to Andover in Hampshire on November 26 to commit attempted murder, rape, robbery and sexual assault.
The case was adjourned until February 19 for a plea and case management hearing and Goodwin was remanded in custody.
