Police are appealing for witnesses after a hit and run left a 14-year-old girl injured in Dorchester.
The incident happened between 4.40pm and 4.50pm on Monday at the junction of Cambridge Road and Maud Road. A vehicle, believed to be a VW Golf, hit a girl who was crossing the road. The driver left the scene without leaving any details.
The 14-year-old girl from Puddletown sustained bruises and a swollen ankle.
Police Constable Jacqui Allen, of Dorchester police, said: “The driver of the car stopped and asked the girl if she was ok, but then drove off.
“This happened at a busy time of day and I am keen to speak to any witnesses to determine exactly what happened.
“I would also urge the driver to come forward and speak with the police. All calls will be treated in the strictest of confidence.”
The driver is described as a white man in his 40s, balding and was wearing shorts. Anyone with information can call Dorset Police on 101.
