Driver injured as car leaves A338 Spur Road

POLICE, ambulance and firefighters were called when a car left the A338 Spur Road and ended up in a ditch early this morning.

Police were called at 5.30am to the scene 300 yards from of the Ashley Heath roundabout, on the northbound carriageway.

The driver of the Toyota Yaris was taken to Poole Hospital with facial and wrist injuries and knee pain. Fire crews attended because of leaking fuel.

Police said there had been some standing water on the road.

I thought that roads were designed to allow water to run off?
Oh sorry, forgot, this is Dorset (:o)

It's not the road, it was the same blocked drain that always flood that bit of road!
The driver should sue the council/highways agency.

the road is lethal , trying for one a week at the moment by the look of it .thats why they are trying to get us to pay tolls , just repair it and be done with

So why didn't the Police close the road for three hours like they did last week? It was another single car accident where the vehicle ended up off the road and the driver survived. What's changed in a week to Police policy? Or have they finally realised the complete idiocy of unnecessarily closing busy roads at rush hour?

Slow down a bit, drive in accordance with the conditions - it's not that hard. Glad the driver is OK though.

Haven't noticed anything wrong with it. Perhaps you know better and could enlighten us on where my tax money should be spent?

Is it the same drain, every time it rains leaves a large puddle in the road so you can get soaked outside 217 Holdenhurst Road and the Council will not repair that EITHER.

That is an awful thing to say, that is my sister you are talking about! I am grateful that she only has minor injures, just consider other people's feelings before commenting something rude. After all you weren't there and you don't know the full story.
