Update: Danilo Restivo whole life sentence quashed, read more here
JUDGES are set to rule today on Danilo Restivo’s appeal against his whole-life tariff.
Restivo, who was handed the sentence in June 2011 for the murder of mum-of-two Heather Barnett in Capstone Road, Charminster, in 2002, is one of four convicted criminals who have argued they should have received minimum terms.
The five leading judges will issue their judgement at 1.45pm today at the Court of Appeal.
Months after being found guilty of the murder of Heather Barnett, Restivo was convicted by an Italian court of the murder of 16-year-old schoolgirl Elisa Claps. He was sentenced to 30 years in prison.
