Warning given to tradesmen

THERE have been repeated attempts and one successful theft of power tools from unlocked or unattended tradesmen’s vehicles in the area.

Tradesmen are advised to secure their tools and lock unattended vehicles. Low cost security marking kits are available from the community office in the Barrington Centre, Ferndown. If any resident sees the occupants of a white Peugeot van acting suspiciously, call police on 101, or 999 if a crime is in progress.

Sub-editors, when you say "In the area" for a paper covering a particularly large area, maybe be a bit more specific.

Is this a thinly veiled advert for some security markers or a genuine story?

You do not say over what period these attempted thefts took place. Last week or last year? And woby-tide is correct too loose an area.
