A BEAR which won first prize in the National Teddy Bear Artists’ Awards is to be sold to raise cash for Children in Need.
The bear, a one-off made by Jacqui Wickenden, won the contest.
The bear on sale is crafted in top quality white alpaca, and was made especially for Class 9 of the 2012 National Teddy Bear Artists’ Awards to commemorate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
The bear, which would normally cost around £595 to buy, is depicted wearing a handmade satin and lace diamond jubilee gown adorned with royal regalia, including the Order of the Garter taken from the official portrait of the Queen.
The bear will be accompanied by her NTBAA First Prize trophy and a copy of the magazine in which the 2012 NTBAA Results were published.
The auction is taking place on eBay.
