Cllr Xena Dion, above, cabinet portfolio holder for transport said: “The contents of the report, as we would expect, are detailed and technical and cover a raft of complex issues relating to the development of the current scheme.
“We will give careful consideration to the report’s findings and look forward to receiving the recommendations from members of the select committee who will make their conclusions about the review.”
Fred Winwood, chairman of Hamside Residents Association said: “It seems to have taken everybody’s case on board. At first sight it does seem as if the council departments are at fault for not speaking to one another.”
Town centre ward member Cllr Mark Howell, whose Poole People party campaigned for an alternative proposal said: “One of the reasons we objected to the gyratory system so vehemently was our belief that it would marginalise pedestrians and cyclists, making it less easy and more dangerous to negotiate.”
