YOUNG pupils at a Christchurch school paid a moving tribute to Britain’s fallen soldiers at a special remembrance ceremony.
Pupils at the Priory School penned their own personal messages of thanks on wooden crosses and laid these, along with poppy wreaths, at the Garden of Remembrance at the Priory Church.
Some of the messages highlighted the service given by pupils’ relatives while others were general messages of respect.
Head teacher Claire King said: “We’ve been looking at remembrance all week and this was our way of showing our respect for those who have served and those who continue to serve.
“We asked the children to spend some time thinking about what they wanted to write on their cross and they came up with some very touching messages.
“They have really taken it on board and we had lots of children very keen to come to the Garden of Remembrance. Next year, we would like to do the same thing but with more children.”
