Moment of silence on the buses on Remembrance Sunday

WILTS and Dorset buses will observe the silence on Remembrance Sunday, November 11.

Drivers will stop their buses if it is safe and legal to do so.

Operations manager Ed Wills said: “We believe that the thousands of passengers travelling with us at that time will understand and accept a two-minute delay to their journey.

“It is important to show respect to those who not only gave their lives for us in the two world wars but for the service men and women who have died in recent and current conflicts.”

Many of the buses will carry large poppies on the front of the vehicles to support the Royal British Legion’s annual appeal.

Thats a great thought I will certainly support the 2 minute silence. Hope everyone will observe it as we are grateful to all our soldiers past and present for what they do.

Shame the supermarkets could not do something similar, for instance those that open at 11 delay opening till 1103 But there again that would only cause those queing to moan and groan.

I have been in Tesco s before when they have held a two minute silence, the majority of people stopped shopping and stood heads bowed, but there were one or two people who carried on shopping regardless, the ones who couldn t care less about sacrifices that have been made by so many in order that those morons could have a life and be able to shop!

I think some of them may be those who have never heard of Remembrance Sunday nor the two-minute silence.

Really? I expect that they remember Christmas and the carols and that come around once a year and that is well publicised too.
