Assault inquiry launched after police called to property in Bournemouth

POLICE closed a Bournemouth road yesterday morning following an allegation of assault.

Brassey Road was closed at its junction with Wimborne Road and Muscliffe Road for around 25 minutes while officers dealt with the incident at 7.55am yesterday.

A number of police dogs and their handlers were also called to the scene, although it is not known what part they played in the investigation.

The Daily Echo understands that two people were arrested and were helping police with their enquiries.

A Dorset Police spokesman said: “At approximately 7.55am today, Tuesday 30 October 2012, Dorset Police were called to a property on Brassey Road in Bournemouth following an allegation of assault.

“Ambulance attended the scene.

“Dorset Police are currently investigating the circumstances and have no further information at this time.”

So someone might have hit someone else? Who cares? Nobody was arrested, so the incident must have been less serious than making pig noises within earshot of a policeman (section 5 of the public order act), telling a policeman to go and catch some real criminals (obstructing a constable in the execution of his duty) or filming a policeman sitting down in a coffee shop drinking coffee (drunk and disorderly).
