SNAP HAPPY: WHSmith staff Zara Hooper and Alex Rose pose with the new book,
“THE pictures are stunning as usual – it is creating a great deal of interest.”
These are the words of book store boss Emma Cornwell ,who is proudly displaying the latest Daily Echo book in WHSmith in Poole.
Since its launch earlier this week, scores of shoppers have taken an interest in the 2012 book, which contains 176 pages of stunning pictures.
Dorset: A Photographic Journey in an Olympic Year, features the work of award-winning Daily Echo photographers and contributors from across the county.
Thousands of copies are now up for grabs at stockists all over Dorset and volumes are being snapped up for Christmas.
Beautiful buildings such as Kingston Lacey house and Wimborne Minster are featured, as are more quirky landmarks such as Weymouth’s Jubilee clock and the bandstand at Christchurch.
Striking scenes such as snow at Wick village and sunrise over Mudeford are certain to catch the eye of Dorset residents and there is also a chapter featuring the county’s involv-ement in the Olympics and Para-lympics.
The hardback book costs just £14.95 and would make a welcome addition to anyone’s Christmas stocking.

Yes, they did the same last year! Every day now there will be either a full or half page extolling its virtues right through to xmas, with photos of every shop that is selling it. It is not news, the photos were taken by the readers so 'jumping on the bandwagon' springs to mind. It should be listed under the classified ads. We will get 'story after story' about how successful this book is, just to sell more copies! Rant over!!
