FREE culinary workshops for disadvantaged people are available this month at The Crumbs Project in Bournemouth.

The Cook and Learn Workshops aim to provide individuals with mixed abilities, the opportunity to learn practical culinary skills and gain experience of working in a professional catering environment.

Trainees will learn valuable techniques in cooking and baking, as well as being given an opportunity to use the professional equipment and materials available at Crumbs.

The Crumbs Project was awarded a grant from the Santander Foundation UK to provide the free workshops for people with anyone who has experienced mental health issues or learning disabilities.

“We are committed to supporting charities like The Crumbs Project to help them make a difference for disadvantaged people in the UK,” said a spokesman for the Santander Foundation UK.

Leanne Miller, operations manager for The Crumbs Project added: “The Cook and Learn Workshops are a great opportunity for potential trainees to gain a unique insight into the professional training, support and facilities here at Crumbs.

“Workshop trainees can experience what Crumbs has to offer and explore the training programmes and internships available.”
