AN investigation has been launched into a Bournemouth post office which closed on Wednesday.

In an email to town centre councillors, the Post Office said it had launched an "internal investigation" after the sudden closure of the West Hill Post Office.

The relevant section of the store, in Commercial Road, was sealed off with a sign indicating a computer problem was the cause.

The closure came a day after the post office in Wimborne Road, Kinson, closed in mysterious circumstances with no notice provided to customers.

The company has declined to provide more information.

A spokesman said: "West Hill Post Office has been temporary closed due to operational reasons.

"We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the temporary closure of this branch. We are working hard to restore Post Office services to the area."

In the email, Stuart Taylor, Post Office external relations manager, said: "The local Post Office field team are already working on trying to find a solution so that service can be restored to customers."
