DORSET'S Camp Bestival is going all Uptown Funk as musician and producer extraordinaire Mark Ronson is unveiled as Friday night headliner at next year's event.

He leads a bill which also features girl group All Saints, dance duo Leftfield, Frankie Goes to Hollywood frontman Holly Johnson, X Factor winner Louisa Johnson, and top tribute band The Bootleg Beatles.

The first wave of stars were announced today for what will be Camp Bestival's 10th birthday from July 27-30 and will have the theme of 'pop stars and rock stars'.

Time is running out if festival-goers want to buy Early Bird tickets. General admission tickets go on sale tomorrow at 10am. Camping Plus, Backstage VIP Camping and Hospitality Camping tickets are on sale now.

The family-friendly festival, which is held in the grounds of Lulworth Castle, also features shows and attractions suitable for all ages including the ever-popular Mr Tumble, Dick & Dom, the return of Historic Royal Palaces’ Tudors on Tour, kid's disco with the 'world's largest disco ball', and School of Rock – The Musical, a UK festival exclusive with an appearance from the cast of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s new musical based on the 2003 film.

DJs and soundsystems lined up include Skream and David Rodigan presents Ram Jam.

More acts, including the headliners for Saturday and Sunday, will be announced in the coming months.

Festival founder, the DJ Rob da Bank who also organises the bigger Bestival on the Isle of Wight said: “Calling all budding pop stars, rock stars and divas! Welcome to our first announcement of Camp Bestival 2017 – from the funk pop maestro Mark Ronson through The Bootleg Beatles, the dubby techno majesty of Leftfield and our mates Dick and Dom right up to what should be a showstopper with a UK festival exclusive of Andrew Lloyd Webbers new musical, School of Rock on the main stage.”

Rob da Bank said the festival was delighted to have Mark Ronson headlining the Castle stage on Friday night.

"The A-list’s favourite DJ, Mark’s set will be a non-stop hit parade from Amy Winehouse to Bruno Mars, so make sure you pack your dancing shoes and feel like a pop star at Mark’s own Camp Bestival house party."

He added: "There’s plenty more pop goodness with main stage appearances from the ‘90s coolest girl band, All Saints, Frankie Goes to Hollywood icon Holly Johnson, techno lords Leftfield, X Factor 2015 winner Louisa Johnson and the world’s most fab-tastic tribute band, The Bootleg Beatles."

If you’re looking for some proper hands in the air moments, Camp Bestival’s favourite disco destination Bollywood will be playing host to the likes of beat vagabond Skream, reggae and dance hall deity David Rodigan, who will present Ram Jam, and old school rave pioneers Raindance.

Plus there's seven arenas filled with "amazing fun, delicious food & drink, relaxing therapies and top notch facilities catering for family needs".
