A new warning for fog has been issued for parts of Dorset, lasting until Friday morning.

The Met Office said the warning will last from 4pm on Thursday until 10am on Friday.

It warns of areas of fog which have not cleared during Thursday, will become thicker and more extensive.

It says: "Patches of dense, freezing fog will then affect some areas through the rest of the night, although probably more restricted to parts of southwest England by Friday morning.

"Please be aware of likely tricky road travel conditions."

The Chief Forecaster said: "With little cloud and practically no wind, fog looks like thickening up pretty quickly this evening across parts of the warning area."

It comes after a warning of freezing fog was issued for Dorset on Thursday morning.

Much of Dorset woke to icy conditions.

The ramps at Bournemouth's Castlepoint car park were closed for a short period due to ice, and freezing fog lasted in some areas until midday.
