TRAFFIC in Bournemouth town centre is being disrupted today by the closure in one direction of a lengthy stretch of Holdenhurst Road.
The busy route is closed to northbound vehicles between the Lansdowne roundabout and the railway station roundabout - and the road closure could last up to a fortnight.
Bournemouth council says the closure is because of building work by the private sector on a new Bournemouth University development.
Gary Powell, head of traffic management at Bournemouth Borough Council said: “The works along Holdenhurst Road in the Lansdowne area are associated with the development of the Bournemouth University International College led by construction company Watkins Jones and will be completed within the next two weeks.
“We are liaising with the contractor to ensure access is maintained for local businesses and to keep disruption to a minimum for those travelling along this route.”
