Man has ear tips bitten off in fight
A MAN had the tops of both his ears bitten off during a street fight in Bournemouth early Sunday morning.
The fight happened between a group of six men and another group of three men outside KFC at 1.50am.
According to the police, they later found two of the men involved outside Dorset House, one with the top of both of his ears bitten off and the other with a broken nose and fractured finger.
They were taken to Poole hospital by ambulance.
The third man from the group of three was later discovered at Boscombe Pier with facial injuries.
The police believe that the group of six men had earlier assaulted a nightclub chaplain, Jon Oliver, in Christchurch Road.
The chaplain, who provides pastoral care to clubbers and night staff in Bournemouth, was walking in the street with a colleague when he was hit in the face.
He said: "It all happened so quickly. I saw a group coming down the road and then a lot of blood.
"Two bouncers came to help and one of them told the police.
"I have been hit before but I don't feel unsafe on the streets."
He was taken to Royal Bournemouth Hospital with a suspected broken nose and he needed stitches for a cut on his face.
Despite this he said he will be out on the streets again next weekend.
A police spokesman said that the men involved had been in the Empire Club on Holdenhurst Road, where police believe there was some kind of altercation.
They are checking the CCTV footage from the club and the street and are still looking for the group of six men.
Witnesses or anyone with any information about the attack should contact Dorset Police on 01202 222222.
